Body Language Reveals Wealth
When I saw the title of the article, I thought it would say that wealthier people had more confident, charismatic body language. The real conclusion was a bit of a surprise:
They found that students whose parents were from higher socioeconomic status (SES) backgrounds engaged in more of what he called “impolite” behaviors, such as grooming, doodling and fidgeting. Lower SES students showed more “I’m interested” gestures, including laughter and raising of the eyebrows.
In other words, if you didn’t grow up rich, you’re less likely to be rude during conversation.
